Creative Drive Liege: art management residences for artists and future managers
Creative Drive aims to support the entrepreneurial actors of creative industries in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.
In the field of creative industries, the Ateliers d'Art Contemporain in Liege specialize itself in artist’s management training in a residency program. The artist’s manager manages the career of a recognized or beginner artist. He prospects, negotiates and monitors contracts of employment’s conditions (artistic, technical, economic and legal) and can also advise the artist for his career’s choices.
For 3 months, 4 residents (2 artists and 2 future managers) will collaborate in a training and practice program and on the ground of their newly acquired skills.

Whose is Creative Drive Liege for?
• Artists without restriction of discipline or nationality, who want to create a professional network and broadcast in Belgium and abroad and acquire managerial skills.
• Anyone interested by the arts community with the desire to become a professional artist’s manager.
The qualities sought in candidates are:
• Interest and questioning in relation with the management and broadcasting of art.
• Openness to new ideas.
• Ability to work in group, listening and availability.
• Mastery of English.
Goals of residency:
• Professionalizing future artist’s managers.
• Improve broadcasting and visibility strategies, and professionalization of the artists.
• Create a toolkit and resources.
• Provide opportunities for professional contacts and encounters.
How to apply?
Send by email or by post before 15th of december 2010:
• The application form
• The artistic resume (a minimum of 3 years experience is required)
• Samples of work done so far: 15 pictures for visual artists, a CD for musicians, videos or other materials relevant to the artist’s discipline. The fi les will not be returned to candidates.
• A motivation letter containing the various needs that the artist might have in relation to residency training (eg: skill requirements, network, communication, etc.).
Practical information:
The residences will take place over a period of three months in Liege, with two residences per year and 4 residents per period (2 artists and 2 future managers).
The first residency will take place from March 1 to May 31, 2011.
Creative Drive provides residents with housing, workspace and a per diem and will support the organization and the cost of training and mentoring.
