Sytki Brahimi

Sytki Brahimi (1951) lives and works in Shkodra, Albania. Brahimi is a painter who shows us a surprisingly strong colouring, with themes that are remarkable by their simplicity and honesty.He alternates still lives, landscapes, figures and abstract paintings with a definite touch that makes them unmistakably his own. His work betrays a great love for the Albanian people and the nature of his homeland. Sytki Brahimi is professor of modern arts at the Art Academy of Shkodra.He studied at the Art Academy of Tirana at a time when contemporary art was demonized, hence invisible. After his much acclaimed first exhibition in Art Base two years ago, Brahimi is back in the country with a very colourful series of oil paintings depicting beach scenes.
