Presentatie

If we were to define the music of Jim, we could say that it's a blend of electronic and acoustic sounds, largely inspired by the heritage of the Afro-American music - blues mixed with jazz and soul mixed with electronic music. Back in 1994, Jim Van Eyck was far from thinking that "Arpeggia", his first single released under the name of " The MacKenzie feat. Jessy" would eventually become a reference for many house-music lovers. Jim was born in 1972 in Brussels, Belgium, and had been immersed since his childhood into Jazz and Rock'n'roll music thanks to his father who, at the time, played the drums with the only Belgian rock'n'roll bands touring all over Europe: "The Kingbees" and "Walace Collection" ("Daydream"). Under these influences, he decided to buy his first Atari computer and started composing music. In 1993 he joined "The Mackenzie Records" company. During the next three years, they released lots of maxi's under various pseudonyms. Jim, in the meantime, started a career of dj: his style, influenced by house-music, tech-house and deep-techno, enabled him to work under contract everywhere in Europe. In 2004, Jim decided to set up his own label, "Pulp Records"
