Concert "VERS UNE MÉLODIE UNIVERSELLE"
December 9, 2017 - 19:30 ESPACE LUMEN Chaussée de Boondael 32-36, 1050 BRUSSELS - BELGIUM The sixth edition of the Brussels Mawlid Festival, organised by the « Ensemble pour la Paix et la Fraternité » association with the support of the “Commission communautaire française”, presents a dialog between West and East, to invite all citizens to synchronise their hearts with a « Universal Melody » ! When West and East meet as two parts of the same Mirror, a strong message of wisdom and peace emanates from their alliance. The combination of classical music with the works of wise sufi masters, Sheikh al-Alawi, Sheikh Khaled Bentounes, as well as texts from Western and Eastern poets, Taha Adnan, Dorothy Oger, Jean Garcia, Miguel Fernandez, expresses a joint message of peace, tolerance and « Living Together ». Under the direction of Mona A. Ahdab, the Festival music program, as well as the exceptional selection of international artists, Martine Reyners, Patrick Kabongo, Vardan Hovanissian, Wesam al-Azzawy, Adnan Shanan, Miguel Fernandez, Laura Gonzales-Jimenez, a Sufi choir, and in the second part of the evening the Al Firdaus Ensemble, from ten different nationalities and cultures, reflect the desire to join together, beyond differences, to help building a human family around the cultural wealth. The Festival is dedicated to coming together without being alike, inspiring words of peace as well as an invigorating message of hope, shining from Brussels to brighten the heart of Europe.
