expo: Hospitable Plains - part 1

Blood Orange presents - HOSPITABLE PLAINS | Part 1

20th & 21st October 11-4pm
PV Friday 19th October 6-9pm

Blood Orange is delighted to present Hospitable Plains, a two-part group exhibition of new works by Brussels & London based artists. The first leg at the Brussels Art Factory invites artists to use a 3-day installation period as an opportunity to extend current concerns within their own practice. Offering a new context for the work, the space also hopes to encourage a changeable working environment where ideas can be tested and new dialogues between works forged.

Blood Orange will use this time as a platform to facilitate exchange, in the hope of providing future possibilities between artists and their respective home cities. Hospitable Plains - part 2 will take place in London 2013.

This artist led collective exhibits emerging artists in order to share and expand audiences and broaden networks of interaction. Founded by recent Royal College of Art graduates Sarah Simmonds & Debra Welch, Blood Orange seeks spaces to exhibit that are not that of the conventional gallery space. These spaces offer themselves as fresh platforms to facilitate the exchange between artist, work and audience. Integral to Blood Orange’s ethos is the interaction between artists during exhibitions and the future relationships that form from this experience.
