De No Neck Blues Band neemt sinds 1992 een bijzondere plaats in het New Yorkse undergroundwereldje in. Hun improvisaties - tussen freejazz, kosmische rock en psychedelische kronkels - gaan gepaard met elementen uit performance en geheimzinnige grafische effecten.
Adam Egypt Mortimer filmt de groep sinds het prille begin. Door verslag uit te brengen van hun diverse activiteiten (geheime concerten, optredens op de gekste plaatsen) draagt hij bij tot de mythevorming rond de groep.
'AT 6AM WE BECOME THE POLICE' weaves together 10 years worth of performance footage with filmic images that get create an "Ecstatic Truth" about the band's music. Inspired by project's such as Sun Ra's "Space Is The Place," and Kenneth Anger's "Lucifer Rising," 6AM is an abstract sci-fi tinged face melting meditation on music, time travel, and the pursuit of the perfect psychotic breakthrough.
Tijdens deze uitzonderlijke avond kun je kennismaken met materiaal dat pas in het najaar op dvd uitkomt. En het is meteen ook het enige concert van de No Neck Blues Band in België!
